Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 25, 2026

Summary

LinkCheck does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Period.

What data does LinkCheck access?

When you click Check Links, the extension reads the anchor links (<a href>) on the current page in your active browser tab. This happens entirely within your browser.

What network requests does LinkCheck make?

LinkCheck sends HTTP HEAD or GET requests only to the URLs that already exist on the page you are scanning. These requests check whether the link is reachable. No other network requests are made — no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking pixels, no phone-home calls.

What does LinkCheck store?

LinkCheck stores four boolean preferences in your browser's local storage:

These values never leave your browser. They are not synced, uploaded, or shared.

Third-party services

None. LinkCheck does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, error reporting, or data processing services.

Permissions explained

Children's privacy

LinkCheck does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since LinkCheck collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
